On Sunday, 2nd November 2025, the Sirikwa Pentecostal Fellowship family gathered for our annual Thanksgiving Service — and it was a day that felt full of life, warmth, and the gentle presence of God. The theme of the day, “Overflowing With Gratitude,” guided every part of the service: the worship, the testimonies, the message, and even the quiet personal reflections happening in hearts all across the sanctuary. It was more than a service; it felt like a collective breath of thank You to the One who has carried us through the year.
Our scripture reading came from Luke 7:36–50, the story of the woman who poured perfume on Jesus’ feet. It’s not just a story about worship — it’s a story about understanding grace. The woman didn’t come to Jesus with perfect words or a perfect past. She came with love that overflowed because she knew how deeply she had been forgiven. This passage reminded us that gratitude is not measured by how “good” life looks on the outside, but by what God has already done inside us. Gratitude doesn’t start with blessings — it starts with grace.
We were honored to have Pastor Gibson Anduvate from ICC Church Nairobi as our guest speaker. Pastor Gibson shared the message with clarity and depth, but also with a sense of peace and sincerity that made the Word easy to receive. He emphasized that gratitude is more than saying “thank You” — it’s living in a way that shows it. When you remember who God has been to you, your life becomes your response. Your worship becomes deeper. Your generosity becomes natural. Your love becomes intentional. And your faith stops being something you visit only on Sundays — it becomes part of who you are.
The worship team led the congregation into powerful praise moments and gentle worship moments that allowed people to reflect, cry, smile, and remember God’s goodness in their own story. Many hearts were soft that morning. And when testimony time came, it was clear that God has been moving. Stories were shared of healing after long seasons of waiting. Stories of provision when all doors seemed closed. Stories of restored relationships, renewed peace, and quiet miracles no one expected. You could feel the room agreeing: God has truly been faithful.
One of the most memorable moments came near the end of the sermon, when Pastor Gibson invited anyone who wanted to surrender their life to Christ to come forward. The sanctuary grew still, then slowly, one by one, 20 individuals stepped forward. Some with tears. Some with smiles. All with courage. The church family erupted in joy. There is no celebration like the celebration of salvation. These were not just numbers — these were stories being rewritten, hearts being restored, lives being made new.
We then offered our thanksgiving offerings as a church, giving joyfully and freely, not out of pressure but out of love. The service concluded with warm fellowship — handshakes, laughter, encouragement, and that unmistakable feeling of belonging.
This Thanksgiving Service reminded us of something important:
Gratitude is not once a year — it is a way of living.
God has been faithful. God is still at work. And we will move forward with hearts overflowing.
To everyone who prayed, served, attended, gave, and celebrated — thank you.
All glory to God.
