Divine Detours: How God Out did Our Plans in Aroon
Our mission team arrived in Aroon, West Pokot with a simple blueprint: construct a church, share the Gospel, and serve the community. But God had kingdom-sized surprises in store – complete with unexpected challenges and divine breakthroughs.

The adventure began immediately. Transporting construction materials became a faith journey of its own as we navigated remote terrain, sometimes getting lost between worksites and supply points. Yet each logistical hurdle became an opportunity to rely on God’s provision.
Bonfire Revival: Light in the Darkness
When night fell, our “plan B” bonfire crusade became God’s main event. As flames crackled against the African sky, something electrifying happened. The Holy Spirit moved powerfully as:
- Our translators wept under conviction mid-sentence
- 37+ souls surrendered to Christ
- Believers recommitted with tears of renewal
Sacred Sweat: Building More Than Walls
By day, we labored shoulder-to-shoulder with the Aroon community:
- Every nail driven becoming an act of worship
- Mixing concrete with local women’s joyful singing as our soundtrack
- Teenagers eagerly hauling bricks alongside our team
The Real Miracle
When we left, Aroon had:
✅ A sturdy new church building
✅ A spiritually awakened community
✅ Unbreakable bonds of kingdom family
The challenges? They just made the victory sweeter. The moments we got lost? God used them to redirect us to divine appointments.
This wasn’t just a mission trip – it was a masterclass in trusting God’s greater plan. And the best part? This is only chapter one of Aroon’s story.
