On April 21, 2025, the Youth Department of Sirikwa Pentecostal Fellowship hosted an inspiring and transformative event at Mission Centre, bringing together 183 young people—both boys and girls—for a day of spiritual nourishment and empowerment. The gathering, themed “Justice, Mercy, and Obedience” (JMO), was anchored on Micah 6:8, a powerful verse that calls believers to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. The event was graced by esteemed speakers, including Pastor Amos Nyongesa, Pastor Benson Bosire, and Pastor Gika from Count Me In Kenya, each of whom shared profound insights on Christian living.
The event commenced with heartfelt worship, preparing the hearts of the attendees for the message that would follow. Pastor Nyongesa introduced the theme, highlighting its relevance in today’s world and emphasizing that young believers have a critical role in living out God’s expectations through justice, mercy, and obedience.
Pastor Bosire led a deeply engaging session on God’s Expectation and Justice, challenging young people to reflect on how they uphold justice in their daily lives. He expounded on Micah 6:8, explaining that justice is not only about legal fairness but also about advocating for righteousness and standing up for those in need. He encouraged the youth to embrace fairness and integrity, reminding them that God’s justice is rooted in love and compassion.
Following this, Irene Sala took the stage to emphasize the importance of obedience and responding to the call. She spoke passionately about the need to listen to God’s voice and respond with courage and commitment. Obedience, she explained, is more than just following rules—it is a personal and deliberate choice to walk in God’s ways, even when faced with challenges. She shared real-life examples of young people who have answered God’s call, illustrating how obedience leads to blessings and fulfillment in life.
As the gathering neared its conclusion, Pastor Gika made a powerful and heartfelt call to the altar. Encouraging every young person to reflect on their spiritual journey, he invited those who felt led to renew their commitment to God and embrace a life of faith. The response was overwhelming, with many stepping forward to seek prayer, renewal, and a deeper connection with Christ. The altar call marked a moment of surrender and transformation, as attendees lifted their hands in worship, committing to a life of justice, mercy, and obedience.
The JMO event was not just a gathering—it was a movement of young believers choosing to live out God’s word in tangible ways. As the participants left the Mission Centre, they carried with them a renewed sense of purpose and determination to be ambassadors of faith in their communities.
In a world where justice, mercy, and obedience are often challenged, this youth event served as a beacon of hope, reminding young people that God’s call is clear and unwavering. As Micah 6:8 teaches, the path to living a fulfilling and God-honoring life is found in acting justly, showing mercy, and walking humbly with our Creator.
